Frequently Asked Questions

Is E-Z Gutter Guard a maintenance free product?

Although the product is designed to handle volumes of water and the slight slope it is installed on should shed most of the debris, the guards should be checked periodically to see if leaves, sticks or other debris haven’t gotten hung up on the edges. You may have to brush off the surface on occasion if leaves accumulate. If you notice a build-up of dirt or debris on your system, simply sweep or rinse it off with a high-pressure nozzle on your garden hose.

Can I install E-Z Gutter Guards myself?

We prefer that E-Z Gutter Guards are installed by a professional installer. There are a variety of installation techniques that vary from situation to situation, so a trained installer will use just the right method based on your application. We do sell a line of high-quality DIY gutter guards—click here for more information.

Will an E-Z Gutter Guard installation affect my roof warranty?

No, many E-Z-Gutter Guards have the rear section resting on the gutter hanger and it doesn’t disturb the shingles, therefore doesn’t affect the shingle warranty.  The other style slides under the shingles but does not require fasteners into the roof.  Some shingle manufacturers and local building codes require the leading edge of the shingles to be sealed down.  If you have questions please contact your shingle supplier.

Will I have to clean or maintain my E-Z Gutter Guards?

E-Z GUTTER GUARDS are all designed to be low profile in your gutter.  The powder coated products are a medium black color, so what little is seen is lost between the gutter and roof.  The covers are available in colors to match or complement either the gutter or your roof.

Will E-Z Gutter Guards install over my existing gutters?

Yes they are all designed to install on existing 5” & 6” gutters.

Will E-Z Gutter Guards handle heavy rain?

Yes, all E-Z GUTTER GUARDS are thoroughly tested on our rain test roof that simulates 6 inches of rainfall per hour.  Each product is then tweaked for maximum performance. Our patented screen and cover designs direct rain water through and down into the gutter under the heaviest of downpours

What happens when my gutters get clogged?

Water that flows over clogged gutters can cause serious damage to your roof, siding, foundation and plantings. E-Z Gutter Guards are designed to keep leaves, pine needles and other debris out of your gutters so that water can drop through faster, doing their jobs day and night through the toughest of environments.

What factors should be considered when choosing new gutter guards?

There are a lot of factors to be reviewed — the gutter type, the debris load, how they fasten—with screws or snap-in, and whether or not they install under the shingles or do not disturb the shingles. E-Z Gutter makes over 20 different gutter guards, and has an effective guard for every gutter, debris load or fastening method you’d consider. We’ve organized this website to help our customers choose the product with just the right features and benefits to fit their particular application.
